Sacramento and beer brewing have a long history together reaching back to the formation of the city. By the 1880’s, Sacramento was known as the West Coast beer capital with over 16 breweries located downtown, including the largest brewery west of the Mississippi River. The Sacramento History Museum will be highlighting this legacy with an evening of History and Hops!

Spend your evening sipping on craft brews and tripping back through time to the California Gold Rush. Your ticket will include tastings from local breweries, savory bar bites from local restaurants, live music, historic gaming, and more! Flirt with a saloon gal, try your hand at Shut the Box, test your brewing knowledge, or simply relax and take in the exhibits.

Think you know all about brewing? Be sure to study up for trivia at 7:00 pm. Questions will cover topics such as the Gold Rush, Prohibition, “Know your Brewers”, and “How it’s made”. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams!
