Wet Hop Beer!!! Release on Sept. 18, 19 and 20
There is only one time of year we can make wet hop beers, right at harvest time. Wet hops need to be used immediately so that they don’t rot. Wet hops have a very different profile than hops that are dried. A big thanks goes out to our friends at United Hops in Yuba City for getting these hops to us as fresh as can be.
Wet hop pub: An American seasonal version of our Pub Ale! We used 60lbs of wet cascade from United Hops in Yuba City picked the day before we used them. This session beer features the citrus flavors of cascade alongside the tobacco and herbal qualities of wet hops backed up a solid malt backbone.
Wet hop IPA: 130 lbs of wet hops went into this IPA, with almost 50 lbs going into the dryhop alone. Citrus, sweet fruit, and a strong green, herbal flavor dominate this intense brew. We lightened the malt profile so that the hops would shine. Nugget, Magnum, Centennial and Sorachi Ace hops play a supporting role to Cascade and Cluster. The majority of these hops were provided by United Hops, but some of the Cluster was picked by us from a hop patch near West Sacramento.
