Start your May is Bike Month at the kick-off party at HOT ITALIAN at 4 PM. When that event ends at 6 PM, join members of the SABA Board of Directors for a ride from Fremont Park to Bike Dog Brewing in West Sac to continue the celebration.

WHERE: Meet us at 6 PM at the fountain at Fremont Park, across the street from HOT ITALIAN (16th & Q streets). Around 6:10 PM we'll ride over to R Street (via P and 14th), then head west to the Sacramento River Promenade and up over the Tower Bridge. On the West Sac side we'll continue south past Raley Field, under the Capitol City Freeway on 5th Street, across Jefferson to Park Blvd. and down to Industrial Blvd. The route is a mix of low-traffic neighborhood streets with and without bike lanes, off-street bike paths, and streets with Friday evening traffic. Please be sure you and your bike can handle these conditions. 

HOW FAR: The route is 4.7 miles one way and we'll ride as a group at a casual, sociable pace (9-12 MPH). This ride is *not* supported but we'll have leaders and sweepers -- no one will be left behind.

WHAT ELSE: Bring a lock for parking at Bike Dog and bring a headlight and tail light for the ride back. And by all means feel welcome to bring a helmet and any other safety gear that helps you feel safer and more comfortable while riding.

There will be a food truck at Bike Dog Brewing in case you're still hungry.

COST: The ride is free. You'll cover your own beer and food.
