Have you ever wondered how much the yeast variety influences the flavor of a beer? Or, do you like IPAs? If you said yes to either then you'll love this. We brewed two batches of the same (new Sacramento Beer Week) IPA recipe and then separated them into eight fermentors and pitched a different yeast into each. We'll be doing taster flights of them so you can taste them side by side to pick out the differences. We have enough of the California and Brett Trois to serve pints of those in addition to the sampler trays. Varieties should last 3-4 hours so don't wait to head over.
Yeast variaties used:
1. California
2. English
3. Belgian
4. Saison
5. American Hefeweizen
6. Cry Havoc
7. Vermont
8. Brett Trois*
*bonus beer nerd points if you have been following the recent genetic sequencing of this yeast variety.
